We can now discover here a more holistic approach to this subject:
Sometimes, eating is one way to repress different types of emotional pains. Some people eat, because they struggle with fears. Others eat, because they don't want to feel their loneliness. Eating more than what is healthy for the body then becomes a way of avoiding certain emotions.
We know that the right mix of sugar and fats activates certain chemical reactions in the brain and that temporarily has a short effect on how the person feels. But this is only for a half hour. Then one would have to eat again the same unhealthy substances... but you don't want that.
It is therefore no surprise that diets don't show the results people are hoping for. As long as the original reasons for that eating habits are not solved, these emotions are still there. They may be hidden and repressed, but they are still there.
Those emotions make the person feel uncomfortable over and over again; and then the person is eating again more. Often in situations where the person feels insecure anyway. Sometimes, people find new ways to temporarily distract themselves. You know this: A distraction does never solve the problem. Sooner or later, these emotions come back to surface again - because they are asking for healing. The Soul wants your healing, for long term too.
It helps you then if you can see this chance for healing yourself: take the time to consciously look at those emotions that come to surface. Even if in that moment it does not feel very comfortable: they do come to surface for healing. If you face and release those emotions now, they will not come back again, and you can move forward towards your goal with great ease.
At this point, it makes not a big difference if a person is anorexic or overweight as a result of some eating disorders: the repressed emotions have to be healed first, if the person wants really heal on all levels. Afterwards, when the person is feeling better on the emotional level, to then maintain a healthy lifestyle will be a lot easier. With a little bit of help and determination, you can also make these changes.
Same as many other physical symptoms are signaling this, an eating disorder is a sign that the heart needs help to heal. Old wounds and repressed emotions do need our time and attention. Really taking care of them is freeing the heart, healing yourself on all levels. It is the path to find real well being - both, in short and long term. This is a conscious work you do that will remove the blockages, all that hindered you in the past to live the life you wish to create.
A diet plan alone will not make lasting stable long term changes. One needs to work on a holistic level, on all levels of the being first: the heart and the Soul need to be included in this whole transformation.
The person who is in the middle of the situation can feel a little bit overwhelmed by those old emotions.
