What I share here is part of what I have experienced myself. Therefore, I wish to raise awareness for this. Unfortunately, not yet many people understand what it really means for a person, to live with a PTSD in daily life.
The signs and the way a PTSD manifests can be very different from one person to another. Therefore, they need your compassion, your patience and your support more than anything else. Very often, a person with a PTSD is highly sensitive in certain situations, for good reasons.
If a person you know has a PTSD, please always make sure this person finds the help of a certified and well experienced trauma-therapist. With this, it is possible to overcome and heal a big part of the trauma. Most of the fears can truly be handled with this, the nervous system can recover and heal step by step. Be patient, this takes time.
It is truly important to accept the support of a certified therapist, for all types of PTSD. You'll soon experience a better quality of life again. Any person who has experienced any kind of trauma should always receive the help of a certified trauma-therapist. A good trauma-therapy helps best in those cases. It for sure demands perseverance and commitment, but it is truly healing and helpful.
Please understand that a post traumatic stress disorder does need more help than just talking about it. Same as for a broken bone, a PTSD needs specific medical support for healing. Medical research has developed different healing techniques for PTSD over the last few years, so there is more help available for people now than in the past.
A PTSD seriously demands a special technique known by certified trauma-therapists, that helps to repair the nervous system with concrete work on it. One great technique for this is called
Somatic Experiencing and was established by Peter Levine.
On this website, you find all details and information: www.traumahealing.org
This technique from Peter Levine works very well for people who have experienced different types of childhood traumas and similar situations. It directly helps to recover the nervous system.
It will complete any other healing technique on your path to a holistic healing.
The county hospital, the local medical center in your town should be able to help you and give you the addresses of certified trauma-therapists.
Be patient with people who have a PTSD. It may take some time before they are able to talk about what they experienced. Just support and encourage them to accept the help of a trauma-therapist. With that, finding again a better quality of life, relief and recovery is truly possible.
I do have a lot of experience in this field - please feel free to write me, if you have any
questions about this.

A few small things you can do yourself, in addition to trauma-therapy:
1) What I also recommend to people with PTSD are animals: the loving presence
of a cat or a dog can be very helpful.
2) Meditations, long walks in nature, hatha yoga, tai chi, all types of muscle training
and cardio training
3) Another helpful tool for people with PTSD, anxiety/fears is the use of special music, known as "brainwave entrainment". Specific sounds that help the brain to relax, and to synchronize its brainwave frequencies. You can find more information and these kind of music online.
